NetCam Firmware

NOTE: If you have the new weather station (AUX-WX2), download this firmware and follow the updgrade instructions below. The weather station instructions can be found here. This firmware also works with the the AUX-WX1 weather station.

Determine which firmware your camera requires by following the instructions below. It's very important to note if your current version number contains 5206e or 5407. This determines what firmware you should download. If the correct firmware file is not used, your camera may be rendered inoperable.

1. Browse to a configuration page on your NetCam and note the version number on the bottom right. Look at the images to the left to determine which firmware file to download. Once you determine this, download the appropriate firmware file onto your desktop.



2. To upgrade the firmware, you must use the latest copy of the StarDot Tools software (above) and the NetCam must be on a local network (Ethernet). Run StarDot Tools, right-click on the NetCam in the list, select "Upgrade Firmware" and follow the on-screen instructions. DO NOT power the camera off during the upgrade process as this may leave NetCam inoperable.



3. After upgrading the firmware, you will have to re-enter all of the existing settings (IP address, FTP information, etc). If your camera is not on a DHCP network (i.e. behind a router), you may need to use the null serial cable that shipped with NetCam to reassign the IP address.
