The StarDot NetCam XL requires no maintenance other than cleaning the enclosure window from time to time. To host the live and archived images, you'll need to have a web site or arrange with a third party to set one up for you. Your current web site will be suitable if your hosting company allows you adequate file storage. Your Webmaster will be able to handle this for you. StarDot will be able to work with your Webmaster to handle these decisions.

What is required at the job site?
Power and an Internet connection. DSL or cable modem is the preferred connection. It's fast, reliable and usually the lowest monthly price. If DSL or cable is not available, it is also possible to connect NetCam to a dial-up modem, cellular connection or wireless Ethernet (WiFi). We have partner companies that can provide wireless connectivity and even solar power. We recently installed a NetCam at the North Pole. How is that for remote?

Is NetCam XL difficult to install?
Mounting the camera and running the single Power/Ethernet cable is the only physical demand. All that's left is a simple configuration of the camera with a web browser. (if you have questions, we can quickly get you up and running with a phone call).
